I will never be interested in trucking again until backup cameras come standard on all trucks. Backup cameras became standard by legislation in 2018, for ordinary four wheelers, so did they become mandatory for commercial Trucking as well?

If not, how far are we from having backup cameras as a common component for every commercial vehicle in operation?

How easy is it to make backup cameras a thing on semis these days?

"never be interested in trucking again"

Well sounds like you've never backed up a 53 foot trailer once so doubt you were ever interested really lol.

Not to be rude here, but I think you made a good choice getting out of that game if you can't work a truck without a backup camera.

It's an unnecessary expense.

A backup camera would be useless and dangerous. You can't look down. You have to simultaneously look forward and at the trailer. That's why they bolt a mirror there.

Backup cameras for semi trailers will only result in equal or more backing accidents lol.

We don’t even have standard airbags, and that came out for passenger cars in the early 90’s. Good luck on seeing mandatory back up cameras any time soon.

The only reason I used the backup camera on my car is to make sure I get close but don't hit the vehicle behind me in a car park....no other time do I use it...I'm not sure how I'll need it for backing into a dock...usually the gentle bump let's me know....

Backup cameras!?!?!

We take the side mirrors off after one years; or as we refer to them, ‘training wheels’
