Since Federal Express got shortened to FedEx, how would you feel about Panda Express being called PandEx?

Since Federal Express got shortened to FedEx, how would you feel about Panda Express being called PandEx?

What would it do to the company if Panda Express got shortened to PandEx like how Federal Express got shortened to FedEx?

Also, American Express and AmEx is used concurrently, so how would you feel about both Panda Express and PandEx being used?

And if I referred to Panda Express as PandEx in everyday conversation and you were one of the people I was conversing with, how would you react to hearing PandEx being used to refer to Panda?

Is it not common to have a local Chinese carry out place already called Panda?

Can't speak for other cities, but I live in a pretty major metro area and have never seen another Chinese takeout spot with panda in the name other than panda express. All the others probably try to have a different name so they can differentiate themselves from panda express.

Ah. The three places I have lived that actually had a panda express all also had a panda or panda "something". A small town (~17,000), a small city/big town? (~50,000), and a decent sized city (~400,000). They are all within four hours of each other so maybe it's just a regional thing.

Panda Express owns the name 'Panda' in fast food/Chinese takeout. I'm sure if they had any real competition with that name in it, even a mom and pop place, they'd get lawyers involved.

That’s what happened to my local Chinese restaurant. They made notices that they got hit with a legal action to change their name from ‘Panda’ despite having a different second word that is not ‘Express’.

The original panda is in Altadena/pasadena area, it’s just called Panda Inn. It’s a sit down restaurant
