Why do mod comments often have locks on them so that we're not able to reply to said mod comments?

I wanted to reply to this mod comment over on JNBT:

Please make sure that you censor all personal information that could potentionally lead to brigading, stalking, harrassing etc... This can put the sub in danger of being closed as well as your account being banned.

Please make sure all names are censored. Thank you for the understanding.

I wanted to say to that comment:

The post in the screenshot is 11 months old and the OP of that post no longer has an active account. You can't load his account page anymore so why does it still matter today?

So even if the subject of a screenshot no longer had an active account, do they STILL need to be censored? (How come, if so?)

And why do most mod comments have a lock put on them? Why won't mods let us reply to most mod comments? Thanks in advance.

Your submission was removed for violating Rule #3 (Referencing other subreddits or moderators by name). Please see the rule in the sidebar for full details.

  1.  anti-dox reminder does not equal censor

  2.  These are automated comments that don’t have a date-sensor built in - nor do they evaporate when OP deletes their account.

  3.  Responses to automod tend to be a waste of time (and annoying)

Ah. I misunderstood. Not automod then. Human. Using a shared mod account. To hide their identity.

Still # 3. Responses to mod-team comments tend to be a waste of time and annoying.

Toolbox on old Reddit replies with a subreddit name-mod team account
