Phil Connors of "Groundhog Day" repeated the same day thousands of times because he died in his sleep in most of those loops. On his last loop, he did things different enough for his heart to keep going into the next day.

Shower thought that will likely get rejected from r/ShowerThoughts.

I say most loops because there were some suicide scenes we viewers saw, and other causes of death alluded to when talking to Rita about his time-looping at a café.

That movie was inadvertently my first exposure to the Quantum Immortality Theory.

See the trailer.
