Still is called Hven in Danish (h is silent but changes the e-sound)

Swain is the English equivalent of Sveinn. The word has pretty much died out now, but Shakespeare used it in The Winters Tale.

"Your high selfe..you haue obscur'd With a Swaines wearing."

Boatswain is the most modern usage of swain in English I can think of, and even then I think it might be antiquated.

*coxswain is another one and more common
