Funny enough, there's no GLE (W166, W167 C167), and GLS (X166, X167) that is manufactured in Europe, and I think that those in European markets are coming also from Alabama.

I’d bet $100 there’s not a single county in the country w/ more Mercedes than pickups

I get your point but to be literal about it I’m sure there’s a few, Manhattan NY to start

It’s called New York County, and my point still stands. They’re more commonly just registered as commercial trucks to businesses.

Nice. Own a small machine shop and do handyman work on the side in my rural Indiana town - not a Benz but I drive a Porsche.

I love these assumptions about careers and WV don’t you? People can be hilariously out of touch while thinking they’re on the high ground.

I have a masters degree and am a director level in my organization. What kind of Mercedes do you think I drive?

One that I paid four digits for. 1976 280C.

Never assume anything, kid.

I also have an 09 E350 thats mint with 59000 miles. I think he doesn't quite understand what a skilled maintenance technician makes in salary.

Yeah, I work on corporative real estate and I have seen it. Technicians and contractors that make 4 or 5 times my salary.

I love those! Neighbor had a Colorado Beige. I want a Milan Brown or Reed Green one. They are super comfortable for road trips. Like riding your recliner

More and more I long for a 1992 190E.

That is a wonderful choice. The peak of Mercedes, as long as it doesn't have the biodegradable cable issues.

Dad had one and never appreciated it. Now he and the car are both gone and i miss it

Man I had the opportunity to get one of those in green and I kick myself every day for not doing it. I was young and dumb.

Thank God for that. German OVERengineering unfortunately outnumbers their normal engineering.

Kansas, please do better than this.

Yeah, folks here are misunderstanding the context. They are trying to disprove his claim by saying "i live in a rual area and have a Mercedes" when the claim is that by far in rural areas, pickups are vastly more plentiful than luxury cars. Having lived in rural WA, rural KS, now rural NC, and have worked throughout the rural midwest, i can confidently say that claim is absolutely true.

But the entire thing is a straw man argument, he’s avoiding addressing his constituents’ concerns by invalidating their existence.
