Why didn't Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison update his old video game store to adapt to the changing times?

Why did his failing store still have old-school games? Why not have both old-school and newer games?

A stagnant store that hasn't been updated in over 30 years will be bound to fail.

Because it’s a retro games store. Plenty of those exist in real life and don’t fail.
