When Apostolic women cannot remove their hair for any reason, what do they do when they get cancer? And if chemotherapy, the type of treatment whose side effects include having their hair fall out, is the best option for treatment?

Question

Hopefully they make an exception for getting chemo and just let their hair fall out, do they? Or do they try any other type of treatment that lets them keep their hair?

Hopefully there isn't a parallel to how the JW's refuse blood transfusions even when it would save their lives.

My youth pastor had chemotherapy for several years. She lost most her hair but a few strands hung around. The second time she had chemo they shaved her head because she couldn’t handle losing it again.

Another lady in the church has treatments that caused her to lose most her hair and she has several bald patches but she’s very proud of what hair she has.

I believe most shaved their head, but I think when cancer/alopecia is involved it's a personal basis and check with the pastor. I knew one lady who had cancer and she shaved and ended up wearing a wig similar to how long her hair was naturally before.

My grandmother had breast cancer and she wore hats and my pastor had no issue with her wearing a wig.
