A Mercedes at a trailer park. Opposite of seeing a 2000 Geo Metro at a mansion. Why would a trailer park dweller have a Mercedes? How do they afford the upkeep?

I hope the mobile home dweller is quite handy with cars, especially the European performance kind.

What IS it like to own a Mercedes but only live in a trailer?

Does anyone have any stories about someone who only lived in a mobile home but had a Benz?

Friend of mine lives in a shit house drives a beat up truck. Family is rich af owns one of the biggest development co around. My uncle lives in a single bed apt. I know he's got over a mil in cash. Lots more in investments. My dad who is also rich af has alot. Lives in a jank house.

You don't have money by spending it.

I tried to buy a trailer on an acre because it had a 10 car shop.....my realtor who was my best friend of 15 years didn't let me. :(

From what I’ve seen, it’s all over the place. You can have addicts in one that are sad to see, with a lovely retired couple Nextdoor that moved there because the restaurant they met at is down the street and they go there every Sunday after church and they have a beautiful garden. Then you could have a mechanic who has a million dollar workshop right next to the retired couples favorite restaurant. TPB isn’t a complete parody though there are some trailer parks that are crazy like that. I’ve lived in a couple of

Trailers can be fairly nice if unkept properly, maybe his parents gifted him it after they passed on and THATS how he can afford it since he has no other payments.

How can somebody so dumb drive a Mercedes?

you could just ask the owner directly? i'd love to hear the response from you.

Dont make the dumbass assumption that someone can only whatever they're living in or driving

Trailer parks frequently have drug dealers living in them who (somewhat ironically) are sometimes better able to afford MBs than people in UMC neighborhoods leasing them

It’s a 203

It's actually a 203 C Class

That is a C class my guy.

Thanks for being the third guy to point that out instead of reading the two comments already there.

No problem. Be right next time.

Wow. Your post history shows some serious anger issues… with very little useful contribution. At least I was trying to help. F*ck me for having bad eyes, right?

[–]doc_55lk 3 points

That's a W203

[–]TubeLogic 1 point

So there's that. haha, thank you. I think the comment is still accurate...

[–]doc_55lk 1 point

You right. These aren't terrible to live with, especially if you get one that's already been taken care of.

For reference, I have spend just over $9K in the last 5 years of ownership of my w211 wagon. That is mostly wear items, brakes, tires, suspension, motor mounts, fluids... I am at 125K miles currently so this is all stuff I expected and factored in when buying the car. $150 a month (not including fuel and insurance) doesn't seem too bad to me.

I have a W211 sedan and I've spent like, $2, 3k tops for it over the last 5 years. Same deal as you; just regular maintenance and repairs whenever they came up. It's got, rather funnily, just over 211k on it.

Certain things can get expensive, and being as old as it is, parts availability is always a factor, but I don't think you'll be in for a hard time unless you get a car that's been neglected.
