When I drove away from my parents' house while still on a call on their cordless landline, why did the call start to get garbled and disconnect less than a minute later?
I thought of a cordless landline phone as a cellular/landline hybrid phone so I treated it like a cellphone by leaving the house and driving away with it to run an errand.
It didn't keep me on the call beyond several hundred feet away from home. What was the matter?
And this was around 2005 or so.
Have landline cordless phones gotten better with longer ranges in 2025? How have landlines advanced over the last 20 years?
