Why I would never prefer cremation
I never wanted to be cremated because I thought as a child that cremations were a sign that the soul that formerly occupied the body went to Hell.
Later, I changed my reasoning to my doubts that any level of future life-restoration / resurrection technologies could bring anyone cremated back from the dead. Anyone who is just buried would stand a better chance of coming back to life with a future resurrection technology, and anyone cryonically stored in a liquid nitrogen-cooled storage vat at Alcor would stand an even better chance.
Later on, I believed (and still believe) that a soul in an intact dead body is still aware of what's going on even though they can't move or outwardly react anymore, and will still feel the fiery pain of the furnace cremating their body even though they can't do anything about it at that point. So that's why I would never order a cremation on myself.
In fact, I'm planning on getting Alcor Life Extension Foundation to store my body cryonically for future revival when methods to cure and reverse whatever I'd die from, and reanimate the preserved dead back to life, get developed.
