It’s not a true tragedeigh, nor very tragic in general…a simple google search reveals the meaning of the majority of cultural names, yet rarely is that done before names are posted in the sub. 

yellow day lily (kanzou in Japanese). Kanzou is also the Japanese word for licorice.

Got jumped on in this sub for suggesting someone google before they post. I guess we can’t expect someone to be able to use google if they can use Reddit.

I don't think it looks or sounds tragic.

If I have anything to say about that screenshot it's that I'm appalled by parents giving their girls stripper names.
