I asked on r/BuyItForLife for BIFL Sandals. They recommended Bedrocks. I just ordered Size 13 clogs (closed-toed sandals) for my Size 12 feet for $160. What would be the best ways to clean them?

How do I?

Can they be machine-washed? Machine-dried?

And how long have Bedrock-branded sandals lasted you?

Hopefully being one Size too small for these sandals/clogs won't be a big deal. I'd just have to strap them tighter, right?

They may end up being uncomfortable, with your foot not properly lining up with the arch support.

To know how to clean them, you need to know what they are made out of. Are they leather (suede, nubuck, oiled tanned, smooth), textile (cotton, hemp, polyester), plastic, rubber? I would generally avoid putting any shoes in a washing machine, and opt for the cleaning products designed for that type of material (saddle soap, shoe wash, suede/nubuck brush).

Treat them with a water resistance spray every 2-3 months. To clean, use a nubuck eraser on any marks or stains, and brush gently with a suede brush.

The Bedrock website says their clogs run small and recommend ordering up a size, so hopefully you’re good!

I just got the clogs in the mail today, and they're still in the box, but I plan on trying them on after work.

I'm not sure what brick and mortar store carries them, so in case none carry them near you, try ordering from the website
