I am looking for a BIFL air fryer. Budget is $500 or less. What are some of your most recommendable suggestions?

Also, would you please remember to post links to their purchasing pages?

I hope for one that not only lasts the longest, preferably the rest of my life, but also performs the best. Thanks in advance.

I’ll second this, it’s replaced my oven for four years

This! I bought the Smart Oven Air Fryer (similar to the Pro, with a couple fewer modes) about a year ago and have used it almost daily. I have not used my “basket” style air fryer or my full sized oven since we bought this. Well, aside from Thanksgiving to cook the turkey. Sure, a basket style might be marginally better at getting things crispy, but the toaster oven form factor is so much simpler to clean and so SO versatile. Hands down my favorite kitchen appliance.

I don’t think it air fries as well as a dedicated one, but this is the best counter top cooking device I have ever come across.

We use at least once a day.

Side note, I have found that the air fryer mode makes better toast than the toaster mode.

“Air fry” is a marketing term for convection. The Breville is a great convection oven, IMO.

No such thing as a BuyItForLife air fryer

It's an electronic device built with modern electronic components does it really seem like they're built to last an entire lifetime?

I'm just asking you an honest question does an air fryer sound like something that's going to last upwards of 60 or 70 years? Does that sound like an actual thing that's going to happen? I don't think so.

Edit: I don't mean to be cynical but I don't think people will be passing down air fryers to their children as family heirlooms much like they do other cooking equipment and utensils.

That Breville will last about 8 years with heavy use (use it 6 times a day and are on our second one). Still the best thing, but not buy it for life.

The fans will eventually wear out, but the leader of the pack is definitely ninja. I’d go with the new dual side by side, but if you want a machine the will do more, find a ninja foodi pot. Amazon ones are better quality than the Walmart ones. They discontinued the pressure cooker/air fryer but I love mine.

I have a wonderoven and I love it. I like being able to see inside and it has a lot of good settings. No plastic on the interior.
