Does your Pizza Hut allow this as well? That is, having mistakes on the make line and canceled orders become free food for the staff?

This is why you are better off letting cooks make what they want end of the night.

Managers that I've seen come in and try to crack down on employees eating the food always has backfired.

Long term employees end up hating the food pretty quick anyway.

"wait so other managers know about cooks taking home food?"

"they always have."

I worked at pizza hut two years made a thin crust pepperoni for me and my opening driver every morning. I've had three pizza jobs since Eiland basically eat pizza every day. I will never get tired of pizza and I absolutely love not paying for food.

true! but (maybe it was just because the location was about to close anytime) in that store we could make a whole pizza for everyone, as well as some desserts without paying something, (the store closed a few weeks ago) in the new store I'm working at when someone cancels the order we can grab some and even take some to home, maybe some rules in each stores are different)?

Yes

That being said I literally lost 70lbs+ working at Pizza Hut, even with all the free food 🫡

I ate allllllllll the pizza. I just worked lol it wasn’t unusual to get 20,000+ steps on a shift + putting away truck 3x a week. Got me in pretty good shape haha

I was about to say that it was probably putting away the food truck.

Honestly it was the best my legs and shoulders looked in a long time 😭 is it bad I’ve considered going back just bc I miss doing truck

[–]lucasjr5 1 point

And I hate doing truck, your that one guy every store needs!

[–]Ok_Argument_2546 2 points

I told my AD forever ago if they ever needed a dedicated truck person for all their stores….

I switched to diet soda and started doing mega catering. Carrying 20 pizzas at a time is a nice work out.

I lost 60 lbs as a driver. It’s weird

We do school lunch and they had an unexpected snow day so no lunch. They were all already made and topped. We used as many as we could and took home as many as we wanted and STILL threw out 80 pizza's.

What a waste.

Off topic but now many notifications do you have on top of your phone. That would annoy the hell out of me

[–]lucasjr5 1 point

We need to do shit like that. I had a comment earlier about how we threw away 80 pizza's. Soooo wasteful.

It was up for grabs unless I shit started getting sus. Multiple times here mistakes were too frequent and cooks were too quick to ask for it. I would start throwing them away immediately right in front of them.
