UnitedHealthcare approves around 90% of all claims and the majority of denied claims are for things like missing documentation or duplicate claims. Less than 1% of denied claims are because of medical or clinical reasons. Under the CEO, their medical loss ratio increased from about 79% in 2020 to 87% in the most recent quarter. In auto insurance, loss ratios average around 70%

The notion that Unitedhealthcare has a high denial rate or even the highest denial rate is misinformation.
