Sorry, I didn't know what the atmosphere was like in this sub; I've not been in this sub before tonight. I should've read the other threads here first so that I can "read the room" better.

I was solicited for $5 too frequently by a neighbor who stayed with a girlfriend upstairs for free. I later found out it went towards vodka and/or cigarettes. He drank to dull the pain of his bad knee from an old motorcycle wreck in the '80s. He has no health insurance, so doesn't get surgery or painkillers. Without a job nor SSI / disability, he mooches off of people who live near him for these vices just so he can feel less pain for a few hours.

I felt so sorry for him but he was beyond my help. I need for the Lord to bring a miracle to people like him so their suffering ends.

When I told him "I Won't Help You With The Cigarettes and Alcohol Anymore," the Cerulean City theme played in my head hence the inspiration for this song.

He kept asking for $5 for new things afterwards, like "medication to prevent crossed eyes" and "milk." I still could see through those lies.

He'd pay me back with his EBT food benefits, if he ever paid me back at all.

My sister instructed me to stop answering the door for him, so I did. We haven't contacted each other since summer 2020, but if my songs about Brian ever become commercial successes, I'll let an agent talk to him on my behalf; be a liaison / intermediary, in order to arrange for a cut of the royalties to go to him. All because those songs mention his name.

They'd also set him up for vocal work if I needed him to be a second voice on my songs about him for any reason. (Example: I want an as-yet-unmade professional edition of "A Ride To Dillons," the novice version of which you can find on my SoundCloud, to have BRIAN sing the line "Will you please give me a ride to Dillons?" Right after I sing the line "Please don't ask me for a ride to Dillons!") And if any of our songs that involve recordings of his voice also becomes commercial successes, he'll take a greater cut of the songs' royalties.
