What Android smartwatches will let me surf Reddit and do other fun stuff to pass the time since church officials will likely NOT tell me to put my watch away like how they would tell me to put my phone away during worship service? (Xpost: r/Christianity)

They say when I'm seen whiling my time away on my phone, that shows the speaker who is speaking in front of the worship room that I'm not interested in listening to their speech.

But will they make the same comment about using my smartwatch? I have reason to doubt that since it's a much smaller screen, so I wonder what smartwatches will have so many functions that I'll get to pass the time faster from using it?

If you dont want to be in church - then don't go to church.

This is not a technical problem that needs a gadget to resolve it.

I like to have their free lunch that they serve after church, and I would like to eat from as many free or low-cost places as I can every week, so that more of the money that I would otherwise spend on food, would go towards my debts instead. So the main draw to my current church is their free meal right after service.

You could try praying 🙏🙏 to pass the time, instead of insulting the preacher and annoying everybody around you by playing with your toys in church. Or just nod off and take a nap during the sermon; that seems to fairly normal and more acceptable behavior in church. 🥱😔 Better yet, find a soup kitchen if all you want is free food.

Then go to one on Sunday also; skip the church. You're a thorn in their side.

The regular soup kitchen doesn't operate on Sundays. The soup kitchen is also a church, and they have a regular worship service, but no meal after. The Church of God that I go to is the only public venue that will serve free meals on a Sunday.

Fine. Then go there, but do them the courtesy of not playing with your phone, watch, or anything else during the service. Don't be so rude. Do this 🙏, not this 🖕. Consider a bit of politeness the price of lunch! And Reddit can do without you for an hour or so....or longer.

I have tried browsing on my Galaxy Watch, and it's not good. It's like browsing on your phone. In a jiff, yes, it can serve to read something if you really want to.

But basically, there are little to no dedicated content apps on watches. The issue is it's just too small, but it can happen.

That being said, one of the leading brands- Galaxy, Apple, or Pixel- will let you do it.

Idk man, not even YouTube is available as an official app on these watches, let alone Reddit, Twitter, or Facebook. If anything, you can access them on a browser version like Samsung Internet, but then you get into the screen size dilemma, though that's an easier one to solve: get the largest watch you're able and willing to get.

I've used my watch to read Wikipedia, and even watch the odd video on YouTube, and there's even a couple of games on the Play Store, which are actually well optimized for the small screen, wearable interface.
